We are thrilled to welcome you to our school family! As Jaguars, you will not only dive into rigorous academics but also explore exciting extracurricular opportunities that help you grow as a whole person. You are joining a proud tradition of scholars who have paved the way with excellence, and now it’s your turn to leave your mark.

What is Summer Bridge?
Maynard Jackson High School's 2026 Summer Bridge is an in-person, two-day program designed to help rising 9th graders prepare for a successful first year of high school. Students will participate in fun and engaging workshop sessions with the goal of fostering a smooth transition to 9th grade.
Over the course of the two days, students will: have the chance to get to know students from other feeder middle schools, meet teachers, become familiar with the building, participate in mini-workshops, learn about the expectations of high school, and much more.
Summer Bridge will take place at Maynard Jackson High School on Wednesday, July 22nd & Thursday, July 23rd, from 9:00 am - 3:00pm. Students MUST register in order to participate. The DEADLINE for registration is Friday, July 17th.

Course Selections For The 9th Grade Year
In March, MJHS counselors traveled to our feeder middle schools to assist 8th graders in making their initial course selections for the 9th grade year. We discussed academic options, rigor, pathways, electives, & more. Once students submit their initial requests, parents will receive an email with a draft of their choices. It will also include an invitation to schedule a 1:1 virtual meeting with your child’s MJHS counselor to finalize their selections for the 26-27 school year.

Rising 9th Parent Interest Night
On January 27th, 2026, MJHS hosted an informational session for our rising 9th grade families. We discussed the academic, athletic, and extra-curricular offerings at MJHS. Participants heard from key staff, learned about 9th grade course selections, next steps, upcoming dates, and how to stay informed.
